Linen
Linen can be Fun
The linen we chose is so often a sale item or from a mass produced range of bedding that we pick up at a large outlet. With so much pressure to do so much in a day, there just seems like there is no time to spend browsing and selecting linen. It’s an item no one really sees and there is no use in fussing over it or wasting money on it. It is true that linen can be pricey and that it is a personal item. This does not however mean that we should settle for second best. Comfort during sleep is very important and this should in no way be compromised by trying to save money. There are many creative and inexpensive ways to enjoy your linen and make sleeping a quality and fun experience.
- Make Your Own – Be in control of the quality, color and look by making your own. Patterns are cheap and easy to use for most basic linen. You can make linen items as gifts and really have a great time selecting styles and fabric types. It may work out cheaper to do it yourself although you will need to have time.
- Revamp Something Old – In the cupboards there are bound to be some linen items you hardly use. Looked at carefully, these can be cut up and used creatively to create a new look. You could also break up a set and make the most of one of its more desirable pieces along with ones you regularly use. This option costs next to nothing and will make you feel good in having recycled something you already have.
- Family Project – As a family, a competition can be held or a joint project undertaken that involved recreating a bedroom space. With creative energy all focused on a unique task, this can be a great way to bond. The final product is a good one in that aside from making some wonderful memories, you have a new an interesting way to use your linen. From using old linen to make cushions to personalizing pillow and duvet covers, there is so much that can be done.
- Swap it – You can enjoy swapping linen with close friends and family for a change of look and feel.
- Use it Differently – Pillow cases were made for pillows and sheets made to go under duvets. This is not however a rule and with a little creativity, you can dress your bed up differently for a unique and fresh appeal that will make you want to spend more time in it!
Linen should not be there just for the sake of having it. It should offer you a feeling of peace and comfort as well as reflect a deep sense of your style and taste. There is a lot of fun to be enjoyed when on spends time looking for and working with the various linen items.
